Abstract:

Congressman Boucher speaks out about preserving network neutrality, and challenges industry’s rational for the need to prioritize data and create ‘fast lanes’ for paying customers to ensure quality of service. Citing recommendations from Internet2  and calling on U.S. providers to emulate bandwidth allocation practices similar to those used in Japan and Korea,  the Congressman dispels the need for prioritization. Rather the Congressman suggests the industry should concentrate on prioritizing technical efficiency rather than market potential.
