This paper has been written at the request of EDUCAUSE’s Broadband Pricing Working Group. The Group is charged with developing future strategies for ensuring the availability of advanced, broadband network services. The authors were asked to develop a white paper on one (Network Virginia) of the three alternative strategic models which were identified as having the potential to yield infrastructure and services meeting this criteria. The Network Virginia model is based upon an effort developed and managed by Virginia Tech called the Network Virginia Program. A list of key players involved in the creation and development of Network Virginia, along with their contact information, is included in the Appendices. |
